About Us
Gen Ipsum is lorem ipsum that actually makes sense - well, sort of. We're a modern placeholder text generator that uses authentic generational slang instead of meaningless Latin.
Lorem ipsum has been the standard placeholder text since the 1500s. It's boring, it's Latin, and nobody actually reads it. We thought: why not make placeholder text that's fun, recognizable, and sparks conversation?
Whether you're showing a mockup to a Gen Z client or building a prototype for a Boomer audience, Gen Ipsum helps you speak their language - literally.
We've curated authentic slang and phrases from six different generations:
The iPad generation. The first truly digital-native cohort. They don't remember a time before smartphones, streaming, or "skibidi toilet." Their language is influenced by TikTok, Roblox, and YouTube.
Signature phrases: "That's so skibidi," "major rizz," "bussin fr," "bet," "periodt"
TikTok natives, meme lords, and social justice warriors. They grew up during the Great Recession and came of age in a connected world. They value authenticity, mental health awareness, and calling things "mid."
Signature phrases: "No cap," "it's giving," "living rent-free in my head," "main character energy," "understood the assignment"
The participation trophy generation. First to grow up with the internet. Survived Y2K, experienced 9/11 as teens or young adults, and graduated into a recession. Now struggling with student debt and can't afford houses.
Signature phrases: "I can't even," "literally," "adulting is hard," "I'm dead," "it me"
The latchkey kids. Raised by MTV, defined by grunge and hip-hop. Cynical, independent, and forgotten between Boomers and Millennials. They're the original slackers who are now running things.
Signature phrases: "Whatever," "as if," "been there, done that," "my bad," "talk to the hand"
Raised in post-war prosperity, came of age during the '60s revolution. Witnessed moon landings, Woodstock, and the Beatles. Now they're grandparents trying to figure out why millennials are so sensitive.
Signature phrases: "Groovy," "far out," "right on," "outta sight," "keep on truckin'"
For the purists, we still offer traditional lorem ipsum. Sometimes you just need the classics.

We're constantly adding new features and slang. On our roadmap:
Gen Ipsum is a living project. Language evolves, slang changes, and generations continue to surprise us. If you have suggestions for new phrases, features, or improvements, we'd love to hear from you!
Gen Ipsum was created for designers, developers, and anyone who's tired of reading "lorem ipsum dolor sit amet" for the thousandth time. We hope it makes your work a little more fun and a lot more engaging.
Now get out there and make something bussin, no cap. 🔥
